Parks across the West are closer to tackling long-needed repairs after Interior Secretary David Bernhardt released a list of projects for the coming year funded through the Great American Outdoors Act. Assembled by a special task force earlier this year, the list includes repairs and improvements to iconic national parks across the country and work on some of the projects is expected to start soon.

A national parks bill with overwhelming bipartisan backing easily cleared a key Senate committee this week, likely putting the bill on a fast track for full Senate approval.


In a highly-polarized political environment, it is rare to see a proposal that garners support from both sides of the aisle in Washington, and rarer still when that bill is also supported by numerous and diverse stakeholders across the west from different industries.
